Our Children Today, Our Hope for Tomorrow

Our Children Today, Our Hope for Tomorrow is the annual New Rotary Year outreach initiative of the Rotaract Club of Tacloban, celebrating the beginning of a new year of service by investing in the lives of children through meaningful community engagement. Guided by Rotary's belief that today's children are tomorrow's leaders, the project creates opportunities to inspire hope, encourage learning, and promote the holistic development of young learners while strengthening partnerships among Rotary and Rotaract clubs.


To officially welcome Rotary Year 2026–2027, the Rotaract Club of Tacloban, together with the Rotary Club of Tacloban and Rotarians and Rotaractors from Areas 3B and 3C, gathered at Camansihay Elementary School for a day dedicated to the children of the community. The outreach featured engaging activities, educational interactions, and the distribution of school supplies and other essential items, creating an atmosphere of joy, encouragement, and fellowship as students prepared for another year of learning.


More than a celebratory gathering, the initiative reflects Rotary's commitment to investing in the next generation. Every activity was designed to remind children that they are valued, supported, and capable of achieving their dreams. By providing positive experiences and meaningful interactions with volunteers, the project encourages confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong appreciation for education and community involvement.

The outreach also served as a powerful reminder that service begins with creating opportunities for others. As Rotarians and Rotaractors came together to share their time, talents, and resources, they demonstrated that collaboration can create lasting and meaningful change. The activity embodied the Rotary International theme for the year, "Create Lasting Impact," by showing that even simple acts of kindness can leave a lifelong impression on a child's future.


Through this project, the Rotaract Club of Tacloban reaffirms its commitment to nurturing future generations through education, compassion, and service. By investing in children today, the club helps build stronger communities tomorrow—where every child is empowered to dream boldly, learn continuously, and grow into compassionate leaders who will one day create lasting impact for others.
