Pasada Pantry: Driving Kindness Across Communities

Pasada Pantry is one of the flagship humanitarian and community outreach initiatives of the Rotaract Club of Tacloban, dedicated to recognizing and supporting the hardworking public utility drivers who keep communities moving every day. Inspired by the spirit of bayanihan, the project provides free meals, refreshments, and essential goods to drivers as a simple gesture of gratitude for their dedication and service, especially amid economic challenges.


Launched in Tacloban City, Pasada Pantry quickly grew into a multi-city initiative, demonstrating how a local project can inspire collective action across the country. The Visayas Leg was made possible through the collaboration of the UP Halcyon Alumni Association, Rotary Club of Kandaya, Tacloban, Barangay 60 Youth for Human and Ecological Security Organization, and the Rotaract Club of Kandaya-Tacloban. Together, volunteers served public utility drivers, recognizing their invaluable contribution to the daily lives of countless commuters.

The initiative also expanded to Tagum City during the Rotaract Leadership Learning Seminar (RLLS) – District 3860, where the Mindanao Leg united Rotaractors from various clubs, including the Rotaract Club of San Juanico, Rotaract Club of SPSPS San Juanico, Rotaract Club of Kandaya-Tacloban, Rotaract Club of San Francisco, and the Rotaract Club of Panglao Island. The outreach demonstrated that leadership is best expressed through meaningful service and collaboration.


Continuing its journey, Pasada Pantry reached Quezon City for its Luzon Leg, led by President-Elect Rafaelo Panghulan of the Rotaract Club of Quezon City MediaTech. Through the dedication of volunteers and partner organizations, the project once again provided appreciation and support to hardworking drivers, extending the club's advocacy beyond regional boundaries.


More than a feeding initiative, Pasada Pantry is a movement of gratitude that celebrates the everyday heroes behind the wheel. By serving communities across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, the Rotaract Club of Tacloban continues to demonstrate that kindness knows no boundaries. Through every meal served and every smile shared, Pasada Pantry creates lasting impact—one driver, one community, and one act of service at a time.
